The New Nature of Automation

Valmet is developing a new generation automation system that enables usability regardless of the device and location and revolutionises the ways of presenting information visually. An umbrella concept was needed for the automation system of the future, under which different sections could be launched stage by stage.

The New Nature of Automation’ was inspired by murmuration, the flocking of birds. Murmuration is a hypnotic natural phenomenon, in which as many as tens of thousands of birds create evolving shapes that dance in the sky. In the concept, this phenomenon reflects the flow of information from one location and device to another, as well as the seamless cooperation between users. It means safety and independence of time and place. The New Nature Of Automation refers both to the new nature of the system and the functional similarities with the natural phenomenon.
